I had Gareth from Brycon Constructionsquote me for a job, asked me for a 30% deposit, never showed up for the job, and has not responded to my multiple texts for refund.
I paid the deposit on 30th Dec for a job to start 8th Jan. No communication after the payment. On 7th evening, I texted him asking what time he would be coming on 8th. He replied back saying he had been delayed and will start on 12th instead. Stuff happens, so I accepted that, while wishing he had let me know well before hand, and without the prompt.
Come 12th, no sign of him. So I text again. No response. I text again on 13th. I get a response that they are in isolation, and that he will refund me. I express that I understand, but wish he had let me know without me needing to chase him.
That was the last I heard from him. And no sign of any refund yet. Despite multiple texts.
Very disappointed. I feel very stupid to have trusted him with the deposit.
Don't hire him. And definitely don't pay any advance!
